What we supplied
Complete building package
The challenge
The club came to the project having switched from a tennis facility to pickleball within months, a reflection of how quickly the sport has grown. A pickleball venue needs a large, clear interior: enough column-free floor to lay out multiple courts and enough height to play, all under one roof. At 130 feet wide, that meant a building designed to span the full width and keep the playing area free of internal columns.
The solution
Universal Steel engineered and supplied the complete building package, designed in-house to Oregon’s code and load requirements, including the snow loading central Oregon sees, then fabricated and shipped from the closest plant. Steel framing suits a venue like this: it spans the width to keep the courts clear of internal columns, and a complete package covers the building from frame through to finish.
The result
The result is a dedicated pickleball facility at Widgi Creek Golf Club, taking the club from tennis to a purpose-built venue with a clear, column-free floor for play.
